Trump Tweets Sincere Condolences For Shooting At Columbine

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The President of the United States tweeted heartfelt, warm condolences to the victims of the mass shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. President Trump expressed his “deepest and sincerest condolences” to the victims, their families, and loved ones of those who were murdered by two teenage gunmen back in 1999.

Trump, who had just gotten back into the country from an exhaustive trip to Asia, tweeted, “May God be with the people of Littleton, CO. My deepest and sincerest condolences to the victims of the tragedy at Columbine High School. The FBI and Law enforcement has arrived.”

“If I’m being honest, it was a little weird to me that he was tweeting condolences about something that happened a long time ago,” Republican State Rep. Tom Thompaulsen told reporters, “But you know this president is a seat-of-his-pants kinda guy. And that’s why the country elected him. His base knows he’s gonna shoot before aiming, or even really getting the gun out of its holster.”

During his Asian trip, there were two mass shootings that took place, one at a church in Texas, and another at a school in California. Trump has yet to tweet about the California school shooting, but he did call the Texas church shooting that left more than 20 dead, some among them very small children, a “mental health problem.

“Well, I gotta say on that front I agree with the president, and not just because the NRA lines my campaign coffers,” Thompaulsen said, “I take him at his word on it, because if anyone would know about having a mental health problem, is the guy who saw sixteen trillion people at his inauguration, fourteen trillion illegal immigrants voting in California, and thousands of New Jersey Muslims celebrating 9/11, know what I mean?”

A spokesman for the NRA said it’s too soon after Columbine to talk about gun legislation.
