Our regular readers will likely recall that part of our mission statement here — outside of providing the Internet’s premiere destination for burrito recipes of course — is a commitment to bringing a “historical perspective” on current events.
Recently, a former president was convicted on 34 felony counts in a New York City courtroom. Apparently the United States does, from time to time, ask a rich white man to pay some consequences for his actions. Who knew?
This got us talking about how, after more than 200 years of existence, and more than 45 presidents, there had to have been at least a handful who also were convicted of various crimes after they left office. And that got us wondering what it would look like to break the data down in such a way to where we could see which president had the most felony convictions after he left office, and which had fewer than he did.
Luckily for us, the research took almost no time at all to compile, but since we’re all hourly employees, we milked it for all it was worth, and had one hell of a corporate pizza party while did it!
