At a press conference today, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that he was issuing a new order and proclamation. The Republican’s new directive gives gaming casinos in the state one week to update all their roulette wheels and replace the black spaces with white ones.
DeSantis called it a “continuation and escalation of the war on woke.” We were able to speak with Jeremy Estupidaputo, one of DeSantis’ spokespeople, about this new order. An excerpt of our interview with Mr. Estupidaputo follows.

“In this state, we treat everyone fairly,” Estupidaputo told us, “right after we make sure white Christian conservatives feel they’ve been treated the most fairly. The last thing we want is some white woman walking into one of our Indian casinos, walking up to a roulette wheel, and seeing all that black on it. It might frighten her, or make her think she’s in Chicago.”
DeSantis is considering other changes to how casinos operate, Estupidaputo announced to us as well.
“The bottom line is that the governor sees this as another great opportunity to shine a light on the dangers of being woke, and if he sees fit, he’ll order casinos to make all kinds of changes,” Mr. Estupidaputo said. “For instance, he wants to see the black cards in a deck changed to be black cards with white symbols, because he feels it’s more natural to Floridians for whites to be on top of blacks. He also may end up asking the casinos to make their slots looser for white folks than non-whites. It’s all going to depend on how he feels each morning.”
