Confused White Guy Agrees With New NFL National Anthem Policy (VIDEO)

Everyone’s favorite Confused White Guy took to the Internet this past week and uploaded a new video, this time discussing the National Football League’s new policy for the National Anthem.

Before each NFL game, the players and coaches from each time line up on opposite sides of the field and someone sings or otherwise performs the Star Spangled Banner. Even though most television broadcasts of the games themselves do not include any coverage of the anthem, American conservatives have been an uproar over it ever since former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started using the anthem as a platform to protest police brutality against people of color.

First sitting down completely, and then quietly kneeling as was suggested by a teammate and former service member, Kaepernick touched off a firestorm of controversy when he decided to amplify the Black Lives Matter message prior to games he was playing in during the national anthem. Irate conservatives immediately called for a boycott of the NFL, claiming the protest was insulting to America and people who serve in the armed forces. Kaepernick himself has repeatedly insisted his protests were about brutality.

Mr. Kapernick has a pending case against the NFL and its owners for colluding and conspiring to keep him out of the league. While that case works its way through the courts, the league attempted to quell the controversy over the anthem by enacting a new policy for anthem conduct. According to the new rule, which could be challenged by the players’ union, all players must either go out onto the field and stand respectfully for the anthem, or they must remain in the locker room.

Confused White Guy recorded a video in support of the NFL’s new anthem policy, and you can watch it, below.
