The results of a recently published Reuters/Ipsos poll could possibly provide insight as to how far politicians seeking to mint themselves as “bipartisan” would have to reach across the aisle to please the other party’s voters. According to the poll, 53% of Republicans still believe, more than six months after the election, and more than four months after President Joe Biden was sworn in, that Ivanka Trump is the actual first lady, and not Dr. Jill Biden.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that 61% of Republicans believe the election was “stolen” from Trump. Only about 29% of Republicans believe he should share some of the blame for his supporters’ Jan. 6 deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Still, 67% of overall respondents say they trust election officials in their town to do their job honestly, including 58% of Republicans, according to the poll. (Reuters)

As Congress debates the formation of an official commission to study the events of January 6th, 2021, the nation itself has grappled with how to help Republican voters cope with losing. Historically speaking, the margin of victory Biden enjoyed over the former First Lady’s husband-father-lover is fairly significant. Republican presidential candidates have only won the popular vote once twice since Ronald Reagan left office in 1989, however Republicans have repeatedly cast doubt on the legitimacy of Biden’s win by implying his vote counts are inflated.
“I’ve said all along if you only count the votes that Republicans feel should be counted, our dear president would still be in the White House,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (Q-NY) told reporters today. “Now, we have a full-blown commie socialist in the Oval Office, and First Lady Ivanka is really sad about that. I want to know when George Soros is going to apologize for stealing Ivanka’s job and giving it to Jill Biden!”

Some have already noted when looking at this poll that while a majority of Republicans may believe Ivanka is still the rightful First Lady, it’s a slight majority. Republicans have also enjoyed a decreasing share of the electorate willing to identify as Republicans for decades. The same poll shows, for instance, that only 3% of Democrats, and 25% of the country overall, believe that Biden’s win is not legitimate.
“I’ve studied politics a long time,” Burt Thompson, professor of political science at UC Santa Chingada told us, “and by far MAGA is the dumbest movement in American political history. They believe this dude who spent as much time in bankruptcy court as he has divorce court is a brilliant businessman with impeccable Christian family values. The only shocking this about this poll is that it wasn’t more like 90% of Republicans believing Ivanka’s the true First Lady.”
Speaking on Dan Bongino’s radio show today, Ivanka addressed the poll, and told the MAGA faithful not to worry too much.
“I asked President Daddy to buy my way back into the White House, Dan,” Ivanka told the host. “And he always gets me what I ask him for! As long as I fluff his balls, he scratches my back.”
