FLORIDA — In the pre-dawn hours this morning, the FBI raided Roger Stone — a man who has advised President Donald Trump politically for decades — in connection to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
People following politics might remember Stone from his days working as a volunteer on the Richard Nixon campaign. He gained a reputation early as someone willing to flout laws to achieve his political agenda. Stone and President Trump’s relationship goes all the way back to the 1980’s, with Stone advising the man who would eventually become the 45th president for many years. During the hotly contested 2016 election, Stone once again put his name in the headlines when he openly bragged about having knowledge of what, when, and how WikiLeaks would release potentially damaging, stolen information from the Hillary Clinton campaign as well as the Democratic National Committee, echoing his days as a Nixonite.

Stone’s hatred of the Clintons is no secret. He has been seen demanding that Hillary Clinton be arrested for crimes he alleges she committed, though he’s never presented what lawyers and judges call “evidence” to back his claims up. Though Mr. Stone is currently in an FBI holding cell, that didn’t stop Ms. Clinton from rushing down to his Florida home upon hearing the news of his arrest. Reportedly, for the last several hours, Clinton has been driving around the block, circling Stone’s home in a rented late-model sedan.
“LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP,” Clinton can be heard shouting over and over again. Her car radio is blaring the song “Bad Boys” and she has been seen hurling orange jumpsuits out of the window, which are now piling up on Stone’s driveway.
Clinton has been dogged by Republicans over her use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State in the Obama administration. Despite several investigations, and the FBI clearing her, Stone and others have never been happy with that outcome, and a central theme in Trump’s campaign was locking her up behind bars. For her part this morning, Clinton seemed to be giddy about throwing those chants back in Stone’s face.
“LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP! Hey Roger, who’s wearing the jumpsuit now, you silver haired sack of shit,” Clinton was heard shouting at Stone’s house. “Don’t worry Roger, everyone who has been arrested from my campaign will come visit you in the pokey!”
