After President’s World War Trolling, Macron Suggests He’ll Start Ribbing Trump Over Confederacy Losing

WHERE THE NAKED LADIES DANCE, FRANCE — Last year, the world was abuzz over what seemed to be a budding bromance between French President Emmanuel Macron and American President When Putin Lets Him Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump really seemed to be impressed with Macron after visiting France during Bastille Day celebrations. Seeing the French military display reportedly is what gave him the idea for America to hold its own military parade, however the Pentagon put that plan on ice. Perhaps, though, there is more ice growing between the two leaders who once seemed to have at least a grudging respect for one another.

When Mr. Trump recently declared himself a “nationalist,” it clearly rattled some U.S. allies, France and Macron included. Macron rebuked the tenets of nationalism during a speech honoring the end of the first World War. A clearly stung Trump then tweeted the French were “starting to learn German in Paris” before the U.S. got involved in World War II, after Mr. Macron implied that European countries may have to start being responsible for their own defense against the U.S., Russia, and China.

Trump’s angry tweet is seen below.

“Well, if Donald is going to go there, and try to hurt the feelings of fine French people everywhere, then I suppose two can play that particular game,” Macron told reporters outside a bistro in a small French village today. “I believe it is time to start cracking jokes about a military loss I know will hurt his feelings and probably the feelings of his supporters too.”

President Macron then told representatives from the press that he’s instructed his staff to start hiring the best comedians they can afford, with one sole purpose.

“I want them to start writing jokes about how the Confederacy lost their civil war,” Macron announced. “Sure, we could joke about how the U.S. needed us to win their revolution against Britain, but I think this loss insults him far more.”
