For the last two or so years Mitt Romney has shied away from 2016 speculation, other than to tell us all emphatically that he’s done running for president. Who can blame him? After having his clock cleaned in the 2008 primary, and his beaten down by President Barack H. Obama in the 2012 general election, no one could really fault the old android for deleting the presidential campaign programming from his memory banks.
So imagine the shock and surprise the world felt when Romney flipped recently and said he’s “considering” another run 2016. It’s hard to imagine the guy who is so transparent he released a whopping two years of heavily redacted, incomplete tax returns during the 2012 campagin being so dupicitous, but there you have it. Ol’ Mitty is at it again, at the very least floating a trial balloon for a Mitt 2016 campaign.
